Thursdays: 4 - 6:30pm

9/3 - Lab A at the Central Office

During class: We covered the parts of the SMART board, online tutorials (www.smarttech.com - Trainings - Free Resources), the floating toolbar, and the top toolbar in the Notebook software.

Assignment: 1. Use the floating toolbar with your students. It is recommended that you pull up your favorite internet site or textbook on CD and use the pens on the floating toolbar to write on top of the screen.
2. Use the Notebook software during class. This can be as simple as writing notes on a blank page, but feel free to make it more exciting.
3. Write a few sentences about how you used the floating toolbar and the Notebook software during your class. Explain what went right and what went wrong. Email this information to me or post it onto your wiki page. To access your wiki page, click on your name below and then click "Edit" at the top of your blank wiki page.

9/10 - BMS

Assignment 2: Continue to work with the floating toolbar and Notebook software. Use these with your class.

9/17 - BMS

Assignment 3: Create at least one activity to use in SMART Notebook software that uses the Gallery Essentials and/or Lesson Activity Toolkit. Use the lesson with your students. Save the lesson onto your flash drive and bring it to class on 10/1. Make sure to also continue to use the floating toolbar and other Notebook features.

9/24 - No class

10/1 - MMS (Bring your flash drive with a lesson! Come in the front door by the flag pole and we will be in the 8th grade lab.)

- This is the file that we will use in class today.

- Watch this video to learn how to post your SMART Notebook lessons onto a wiki page.

Assignment - Create a SMART Notebook activity for your current or next unit. Include a title page that has lesson notes for the teacher to use. See the SMART file above for some examples. Also, remember to bring your lesson plans, class materials, and an item to link (Word document, PDF file, online textbook info, website, etc.) for next class. We will use these items as we create our next lesson. I will continue to add videos to this page as the days progress, so look back for more videos to help you as you are learning.

10/8 - MMS

- Watch this video to assist you with linking objects in SMART Notebook to webpages, documents, power points, or another page inside of the SMART Notebook file.

- Save SMART Notebook files or Export them as PDF's, Power Points, and more.

10/15 - MMS
Today, we used the SMART Recorder and Notebook software's Page Recorder to create videos for our classes. We also received and learned how to use our new digital cameras, the Canon Power Shot A480 with an extra memory card.

You now have three weeks before the next class. During that time, use your Canon Power Shot to take pictures and videos of your class or of items that can be used to teach your class such as real life examples. Also, create and use at least one new Notebook software page. During the last two classes you will be expected to post several Notebook files on the wiki for other teachers to use. The files can be one lesson page with a one page description or they can be a large file with lots of activities on the subject, but you must share some of the lessons that you are creating. I look forward to seeing your work on November 5th at Barboursville Middle School.

10/22 and 10/29 - No class

11/5 - BMS

Tonight we reviewed how to use the SMART Recorder and Video Player before inserting images into our SMART Notebook files.

Watch this video to learn how to fix your computer to run with a microphone that is plugged into the front of your computer.

Assignment - Come prepared to share a great SMART activity with the group and submit one for sharing on the Cabell County wiki.

11/12 - BMS - Last Class! Presentation Day!
